The Yamazaki Smoky Batch “The Third” is a limited-edition single malt crafted to showcase the lesser-known peated expression of Japan’s oldest malt distillery. Traditionally known for its elegant, fruity style, Yamazaki created this expression by incorporating a small portion of heavily peated malt, aged in a mix of American, Spanish, and Japanese oak casks. The result is a subtle, refined smokiness layered over the distillery’s usual notes of orchard fruit, citrus, and spices, offering an uncommon impression of Yamazaki’s house style while paying tribute to its early experimentation with peat. 43% Alc./Vol.
