Fruit was sourced from 80 year old vines and matured in new American and French oak hogsheads for 2 years. Totally opaque dark red black core with a dark red hue. Pronounced dark plum and liquorice scents are interwoven with earthy vanillin oak, a touch of leather and spicy mocha notes. Medium to full bodied, very supple and still retaining ample richness, the opulently textured palate is caressed with spicy dark plum and liquorice fruit which melds in tertiary characters of earthy vanillin cedar, mocha, leather and spice. Silky tannins, excellent power and a long earthy dark plum, liquorice, vanillin oak, mocha and spicy leather aftertaste.
