Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 5 2021 Release (700ml)
Batch 5 of Glengyle's sought-after peated expression comes matured in 85% Bourbon oak and 15% Sherry oak, so no change in the maturation regime. Despite the fact that bottles are probably going to be squirrelled away in collections, the question "is it as good as Batch 4?" is purely academic. At least one blogger describes #5 as the best to date, showing off how good younger Scottish whisky can really be. In his words, "Just f*****g exceptional." 57.7% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
