Kilkerran 8 Year Old Cask Strength Sherry Matured 2024 (700ml)
Passionately believe in the value of Glengyle, J&A Mitchell's revived Campbeltown distillery that first opened in 1872 under William Mitchell. Like many other distilleries in the area, it faced a closure in the 1920s, but was fortunately bought back by the family company in 2000. The new distillery, designed by former Springbank manager Frank McHardy, incorporates two spirit stills from the now-defunct Ben Wyvis. After starting distillation in 2004, the first release was bottled in 2007. Interestingly, the Glengyle trademark was not acquired by J&A Mitchell (belonging to Glen Scotia), so their single malt is bottled under the name Kilkerran.
This is the 2024 release of the Kilkerran cask strength 8 year old, this time matured entirely in sherry casks.
All bottles listed for purchase are from personal collections. Please examine all images carefully and satisfy yourself as to their condition before making a bid. Minor markings are inevitable and collector's should have reasonable expectations in this regard.
