1997 Douglas Laing & Co. Old Particular Single Cask Auchentoshan 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Virtually nobody has heard of this relatively new distillery, a venture of Justerini & Brooks (J&B), with construction completed in 1974. Presently owned by Diageo, most of Auchroisk's malt goes into the J&B blend, so a single malt release is an uncommon joy. Douglas Laing's edition was distilled in 1997 and bottled from a single refill hogshead (No. 13130). Expect flavours of marmalade on buttered brioche with a candyfloss and / floral character followed by lemon candies, meringue and vanilla cream. Non chill filtered. 51.5% Alc./Vol.
