Re-established by Heaven Hills Distillery, Pikesville Rye Whiskey is a brand of premium rye whiskey that is as quality-driven, legacy crafted, and utterly quaffable as ever! Offered as an ongoing release, the Pikesville 110 Proof Straight Rye Whiskey encapsulates the essence of this legacy brand - first launched in the 1890s before Prohibition - and is derived from a mash bill containing 51% rye, 39% corn, and 10% malted barley. Aged for a minimum of 6 years, finished to 110-proof, and distilled at the Bernheim Distillery - this superior rye is not to be confused with Heaven Hill's Pikesville Supreme Rye Whiskey, which is a 3 year old, 80-proof rye available solely for the Maryland US market. The nose offers hints of cherries in syrup, rye, old-fashioned red licorice candies, and cinnamon apples. On the palate are more layers of cherries, vanilla, cherry-cola gummies, spice, and orchard fruits.
